i had an awesome time there but i'd save it all for another day. basically in bangkok city itself, i checked out MBK and Pratunum mkt.. MBK stuff damn ex, I don't like! Pratunum is a wholesale mkt hence stuff is cheap. I got 3 tees at like S$2 EACH. wahhh cheap cheap hor? But it's very stuffy, crowded and freaking HOT there.. can't imagine chatuchak!

anw, bangkok toilets are 32423523 times better than china's, trust me on that. ahahahaha. today I did reserach and these are some places where ppl say are gd places for shopping..

Pratunum wholesale mkt
Chatuchak Weekend mkt
Suan Lum night bazaar
Khao San Rd
Chinatown (Yao Wa Rat)
Memorial Bridge night mkt
Plaza 29 - for mani/pedi
Platinum wholesale fashion mall
MBK (EX!!!!!!!! in my opinion)

I think we should visit cheapcheap mkt places like CTC, Pratunum, Platinum (got aircon!) and Suan Lum first, then the shopping centres like MBK. Cos MBK is like FEP, while the mkt places are like bugis village-- that means u can get the same stuff but cheaper! yepyep.

And the tiger airways promotion ends 14 MAY so we really need to hurry and confirm everything! For hotel accomodation, there's this octopustravel.com from the tiger airways website and I think it's cheap and reasonable leh.. not sure what you all think.

I checked out the prices for 2 double/twin rooms for 3 nights. Actually I think that we can squeeze 3 ppl in each room lar horr.. WHO WANTS TO SQUEEZE WITH ME??

Here are the prices from octopustravel, 2xtwin room, 3 nights (based on 6 ppl going)

Baiyoke Sky - very tall hotel and very close to the pratunum mkt and everything. But I heard it's quite a distance from the train station.
PER PERSON (I've included tiger airways tix plus hotel accomodation for 3 nights) = $324.23

Indra Regent - super near Pratunum mkt too! Also quite a distance from the train station. But baiyoke and indra regent are gd hotels if u wanna do serious shopping around the pratunum area.
PER PERSON = $306.23

Arnoma - skytrain 15 mins walk away
PER PERSON = $335.23

Twin Towers - 15 mins walk from skytrain. 20 mins walk to MBK
PER PERSON = $284.23

Personally I prefer Twin Towers or Baiyoke Sky. I heard the TT rooms are v big so all the more we can squeeze 3 ppl in one and hey look the price is within our budget!! Baiyoke or Regent for location (in the middle of pratunum) but far from skytrain.. but can take cab if run by meter? it's cheap anw..
